Micah Johnson: Redefining Success, One Intentional Step at a Time
Micah’s story is one of a kind. He was born and raised in an unconventional place, a highly religious community located deep in the woods, where he was conditioned to a very particular belief system, one that, for many of us, could be understood as drastic and limitant. But Micah is living proof that our beginnings do not define us. What defines us is who we are every single day and the decisions we make on a daily basis.
Micah’s life has been anything but ordinary. With his particular background, ADHD, and dyslexia, he had to figure out how to navigate the world in his own way. He’s held 27 different jobs, spent years experiencing homelessness, and even survived getting stomped on by a bull at a rodeo. He’s not someone who simply takes life at face value, he immerses himself in experiences, determined to learn firsthand what it means to truly live.
But perhaps the most transformative moment in his life came not from an external adventure, but from an internal shift. Growing up, anger was a dominant force in his world: anger from the people around him, anger from the version of God he was taught to fear, anger that eventually consumed him. Then, one day, he made a simple yet radical decision: I don’t want to be angry anymore.
That decision set off a chain reaction that would change everything. It led him to question every belief he had been told about himself, the world, his environment, and what was possible. It led him to self-inquiry, curiosity, and the realization that his past did not have to dictate his future.
Today, Micah is a real estate investor, an artist, a speaker, and most importantly, a man who lives on his own terms. His journey is not just one of financial success but of deep personal transformation, of breaking free from the mental chains that once held him back. He is not in the business of merely making money; he is in the business of designing a life he actually wants to live every single day.
Journaling His Way to Clarity
One tool that has profoundly shaped Micah’s evolution is journaling. For over 1,000 consecutive days, he has documented his thoughts, fears, ideas, and growth. Through writing, he has come to understand himself in ways he never imagined.
For him, journaling is about actively designing his life and the way he relates to it. Being aware of the human he was, the human he is every day, and the one he wants to be, through questions like: How do I want to wake up every morning? Who’s the human being I want to be? What do I actually want to be doing with my time?
This mindset shift led him to walk away from the decisions that were no longer aligned with his true self. Now, he owns the superpower of being loyal to his core beliefs and acting accordingly. He greatly embodies the meaning of coherence, one quality that is not easy to develop in this busy, noisy world.

Choosing Freedom Over Busyness
Micah doesn’t subscribe to the glorification of hustle culture. While many chase endless growth and complexity, he chooses simplicity. He decided for himself to do 12 really good deals throughout the year while keeping the lifestyle he likes and enjoys. He doesn’t want high overhead. He doesn’t want to manage a team. What he wants is control over his time.
“I am purposefully not busy,” he says. For him, time is his most valuable currency, and he really takes care of investing it smartly.
This level of clarity on how he wanted to shape his life and spend his most valuable currencies didn’t come from luck; it came from deep personal work. He refuses to be trapped by societal expectations of what success should look like. For Micah, success is nothing else that constantly creating a life that aligns with his values, his energy, and his joy.
The How to Be Human Tour: Turning Growth into a Mission
Beyond real estate, Micah’s passion lies in personal development. He is a professional speaker and is channeling his experiences and knowledge into an event series called The How To Be Human Tour. This two-day intensive experience is designed to help people truly grow and develop the internal tools necessary for lasting and real-life change.
As Micah has discovered firsthand, true transformation isn't about finding the perfect business model or achieving financial overflow. Genuine joy arises from acknowledging our personal growth and recognizing the profound wealth that comes from intentionally shaping a life aligned with our authentic selves.
The Bigger Picture: The Club and the Power of Self-Work
Micah joined The Club looking for more than just another real estate strategy; he was drawn to the deeper personal growth opportunities it offered. “The Club focuses on business,” he says, "but at its core, it’s about personal development”.
To Micah, raising the floor signifies building a life of intentionality and self-awareness, moving beyond simply reacting to circumstances. He deeply values the idea that true wealth involves far more than financial stability; it includes time, energy, and peace of mind.
Micah’s story is one of radical self-reinvention. From breaking free of the mental and emotional shackles of his upbringing to carving out a life that is entirely his own, he is a living example of what is possible when you refuse to settle.
He doesn’t chase more, he chases better. And that, in the end, is what true success is all about.
